A famous name in the affordable hatchback segment, Celerio looks modern in terms of design and styling. Available with almost all modern-day features expected from its segment and an option of AMT gearbox, the second-generation Celerio becomes a budget buy for daily city driving. Also with some commendable numbers of fuel-efficiency, it becomes easy on your pocket in terms of fuel costs. However, to further attract more buyers, Maruti is expected to bring in a new Celerio variant, which will make the Celerio more sporty. What could it be? We will tell you in this article.

New Maruti Celerio Variant – Design

New Maruti Celerio Variant

A new rugged-looking iteration of the Celerio could be launched in the near future. Maruti did sell this variant alongside the last-generation car. Did you guess it right? Yes, we are referring to the ‘Maruti Celerio X’. The Celerio X received design upgrades on the exterior that give it a mean look. Leaning towards a utilitarian crossover design, we expect the new Celerio to get this variant as well. The new Maruti Celerio X could come with side and rear body cladding, blacked-out B-pillars, and a new front grille. Other than that, there also might be a new orange body paint exclusive to this variant. Getting inside the car, the Celerio X could have different seat upholstery and body-colored accents in the interior.

New Maruti Celerio Variant – Features & specifications

New Maruti Celerio Variant

Maruti banks heavily on their cars in terms of mileage and this Celerio would be no different. If turned into a reality, the new crossover-like Celerio would continue to get the K10C petrol engine. This newly updated 3-cylinder petrol motor could be made available with both, a 5-speed manual & an AMT gearbox. Mileage figures could be similar to the regular variants. Moving to the features, it would mostly be identical to the standard car featuring a push-button start, 4-speaker infotainment system, and more.

Launch & Pricing

Maruti may bring the crossover design to challenge the Tiago NRG from Tata. As Tiago is the only car in that segment, Maruti could gain some traction by offering its USPs of mileage and reliability to customers. Maruti would continue to sell the standard car along with the crossover with the latter being Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 more expensive. Moreover, it could be available only with the ZXi & ZXi+ trim levels. As far as launch is concerned, no confirmation has been received from Maruti. However, we expect Maruti to bring this variant in the coming months.
