Maruti Grand Vitara unveiled – ALL DETAILS!
The last few months have been really busy for Maruti. It has launched a plethora of updated products ranging from Celerio to the Brezza. But all these were just updates to the existing cars. Now Maruti is bringing a proper new car in the form of the Grand Vitara. The Maruti Grand Vitara is a mid-size SUV developed in collaboration with Toyota. So what’s so special about it? In today’s article, let’s talk about the newly unveiled Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and all its details.
Design
The new Grand Vitara does get a muscular design. Even though it is similar to the Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Maruti has given it some unique elements. We see a big grille with a dividing chrome element in the middle. The grille bears a significant resemblance to the Suzuki A-Cross sold outside India. It gets a three-element DRL with integrated turn indicators. The side profile is more or less similar to the Urban Cruiser HyRyder, barring the different alloy wheels. At the rear, the Grand Vitara again gets a three-piece tail lamp design with an illuminated connected strip in the middle.
Maruti Grand Vitara 2022 – Interiors
The interior of the Grand Vitara is quite similar to the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Grand Vitara comes with Rich Black faux leather with Champagne Gold accents. We see a floating infotainment system in the middle, below which we have the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) controls. Other highlights include a three-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument cluster and heads-up display.
Specifications
The Grand Vitara shares its engine options with the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. So it comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild and strong hybrid setups. The mild hybrid setup gets the ISG (integrated starter generator) paired to the same engine. This setup gets a mileage of 21.11 kmpl (MT), 20.58 kmpl (AT), 19.38 kmpl (ALLGRIP MT). The strong hybrid setup, on the other hand, is the Intelligent Electric Hybrid paired to the engine. This comes with multiple drive modes and also best in class mileage of 27.97 kmpl. The cherry on the top is the availability of AllGrip technology, Suzuki’s moniker for its All-Wheel-Drive system.
Features
Maruti has adapted to the change with time. The Grand Vitara comes with a plethora of features. Some of the notable ones are panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, 9.0-inch infotainment system, coloured heads-up display, wireless charging, digital instrument cluster and Next-gen Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected features. What about safety? It comes with six airbags, ESP with hill-hold assist, TPMS.
Maruti Grand Vitara 2022 – Launch & pricing
This was the unveil of the Grand Vitara. So what about the launch? The launch of the Grand Vitara will most likely happen sometime in August. Production is confirmed to start in August with deliveries starting in September. Before the Grand Vitara, we could see the launch of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. The launch of the Urban Cruiser HyRyder will give us a better perspective on the pricing. We expect the pricing of the Grand Vitara to start from Rs 12 lakh and go to Rs 23 lakh (ex-showroom).
