We have only seen the spy shots of the new Verna in heavy camouflage until now. So commenting on the design is tricky, but we can take a few guesses from the overall silhouette. For starters, it will come based on Hyundai’s latest ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language. The front fascia of the new Verna could be similar to the i20. The side profile could get sharp lines to give it a sporty look. At the rear, we may see connected tail lamps running across tailgate, just like the Venue facelift.

The next-generation Hyundai Verna could see a powertrain revamp. There are chances that the new sedan could continue with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, Hyundai could introduce the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol on the new Verna. Why do we think so? This engine will position this Rs 10 lakh Hyundai car as a better competitor against the Slavia and Virtus which come with 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. We have talked about the design and features, but the most important question is, when is it coming? Currently, Hyundai is testing the new Verna in South Korea as well as India. The brand is expected to unveil the car in South Korea by the end of this year. So when can we expect it in India? We can expect Hyundai to unveil the new Verna at the Auto Expo of 2023.
