Tata Nexon in 2023 – what to expect?
Tata Nexon has been ruling hearts in the compact SUV segment. It has consistently been topping the SUV sales chart for the last six to seven months. But like all other cars, Tata will have to keep updating the Nexon to keep it fresh. So what could the next update be? Tata has consistently updated this SUV and it is expected that the next update should be a major one. Mostly, it could be a generation update as the Nexon got a facelift back in 2020. We expect the new Tata Nexon to see a launch sometime in the second-half of 2023 or in the first-half of 2024. In today’s article, we will talk about what could change and what it needs. Let’s go.
Tata Nexon 2023 – Design
The new-generation Tata Nexon could get a complete design overhaul. It will mostly be based on Tata’s latest ‘Impact’ design language. With this, we can expect this SUV to get eyebrow DRLs with headlamps placed on the bumper, like other Tata SUVs. The side profile could mostly get an upright design like the Punch. The rear might also get a different design. The Nexon is expected to come out in a new avatar (design-wise) with its next-generation. Do you like the current design of this top-selling compact SUV? Specifications
Currently, the Nexon comes with petrol and diesel engine options. What Tata managed to do well wasa to offer common engines across its petrol and diesel range. This means that the base variants and top variants get the same engine. But with a generation change, could Tata bring a new engine for this SUV? We highly doubt that considering the taxation rules in this segment. So most likely, Tata will continue with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit and the 1.5-litre diesel unit. Tata might however re-tune the engines to produce more power.
Now one area where Tata could actually improve is in transmission layout. The Tata Nexon gets 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. None of its main rivals offer an AMT gearbox. Tata could actually bring into picture the DCA gearbox. With this, the performance of automatic variants is bound to improve. Moreover, this will also help the Nexon put out a strong case in the segment.
Tata Nexon 2023 – Features
We have already talked above the usual stuff like the design & specifications, but what about features? The Nexon is quite a feature-loaded car already, and the new generation is expected to get even more features. One thing that we expect it to get is a bigger infotainment system. Along with that, we can expect a 360-degree camera, a new digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display and ambient lighting. Tata might also improve the connected car technology on the new Nexon. Could the features of the new generation Nexon be inspired by the Curvv? Only time will tell.
