Top SUVs in June 2022 – SURPISING!
Another month has flown by us, filled with new car launches and reviews. This month we had new launches like the Scorpio-N, new Venue, EV6 and much more. Like all months we will be covering the SUV sales figures for June. So who do you think topped the sales chart? In today’s article, let’s find out.
Tata Nexon
No prizes for guessing that the Nexon has once again topped the SUV sales chart for June. It has made the top spots its own in the last 6-months. So what are the reasons for its domination? It has to be its high safety ratings and features. Tata sold 14,295 units of the Nexon in June 2022. It sold 14,614 units in May 2022.
Top SUVs in June – Hyundai Creta
Close on Nexon’s heels is the Hyundai Creta with 13,790 units sold in June. In the last two to three months, Creta is slowly catching up with Nexon. Will Creta be able to dethrone the Nexon? Only time will tell. As a product, Creta is known for its features and wide options.
Tata Punch
The second Tata car on the list is the Punch. Tata took a big gamble with launching a micro-SUV, but Punch is doing consistently good numbers for Tata. It single-handled rejuvenated the micro-SUV segment. Tata sold 10,414 units in June. It had sold 10,241 units in May.
Hyundai Venue
Completing the Hyundai-Tata sandwich is the new Venue. Hyundai launched the new Venue on the 16th of June, and it has raked in good sales. The new Venue comes with a new design and features. Hyundai sold 10,321 units in June 2022. It had sold 10,241 units in May.
Top SUVs in June – Kia Seltos
Kia’s front runner in sales is its Seltos. The Seltos helped establish Kia in India, and it continues to strengthen the brand. Why is the Seltos so popular? It is popular for its bold design and features. Kia sold 8,388 units in June 2022. A substantial increase from the 5,953 units in May.
Kia Sonet
Following the Seltos, came it’s smaller sibling, the Sonet. With its launch, the Sonet created hype in the compact SUV segment. So has the hype died? Certainly not, as Sonet has stabilised its sales in the 5000 to 7000 units. Kia sold 7,455 units in June. It had sold 7,899 units in May.
Mahindra XUV700
The XUV700 is slowly climbing the sales chart. As a product, the XUV700 has a huge list of pending orders, but Mahindra is still navigating through the chip shortage and it’s lack of manufacturing capacity. Mahindra sold 6,022 units in May. In comparison, it sold 5,069 units in June.
Top SUVs in June- Toyota Urban Cruiser
Surprisingly, the Toyota Urban Cruiser has made its way on the top-selling SUVs list. So why is it surprising? It is surprising because with the new Brezza launched, Toyota might also bring the New Urban Cruiser soon. So from the sales, it seems people are still going for the Urban Cruiser. Toyota sold 5,301 units in May. Good growth from the 3,128 units it sold in May.
