The XUV700 has a waiting period of almost two years on some variants. So what’s the solution? One is either to wait for your delivery or you buy the newly launched Scorpio-N. The Scorpio-N is quite a big car. It measures 4,662mm in length, 1,917mm in width & 1,857mm in height. In comparison, the XUV700 is 4,695mm, 1,890mm in width & 1,755mm in height. So it is clear that the Scorpio-N is a bigger car than the XUV700. Dimension-wise, the Scorpio-N is on par even with the Toyota Fortuner.

Design

The Scorpio-N gets a modern design. Like the XUV700, it gets a muscular front design. The Scorpio-N gets projector LED headlamps with turn indicators integrated into them. LED DRLs are outlined on the fog lamps. The side profile gets decent curves. At the rear, we have vertical tail lamps.

The Scorpio-N comes with the familiar 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. So what about the power figures? The diesel engine comes with two states of tune. The lower trims makes 132bhp & 300Nm(MT/AT) of torque. In higher trims, we have 172bhp & 370Nm(MT)/400Nm(AT) of torque. The petrol engine is the same as the XUV700 which is capable of producing 200bhp & 370Nm(MT)/380Nm(AT) of torque. So where does the Scorpio-N excel? The Scorpio-N comes with a 4X4 drivetrain over XUV700’s AWD system. The 4X4 system will be able to give it better off-road capabilities.

The Scorpio-N comes loaded with a decent amount of features. It doesn’t have as many features as the XUV700 but has all the essential ones. Scorpio-N gets features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, AdrenoX with Alexa compatibility, wireless phone charging, 12-speaker Sony sound system, widest-in-segment sunroof and connected car technology.

The Scorpio-N does put a strong case forward for XUV700 buyers. So how does it do that? The Scorpio excels in its rugged capabilities and engine, which is on par with XUV700. The Scorpio-N even offers 4X4 which will give it better off-roading capabilities. The XUV700, on the other hand, excels in its premiumness and more features but will pull you through some difficult situations, thanks to the availability of AWD.
