Toyota Hyryder SUV spied during AD shoot
Toyota has been gearing up for another important which is supposed to take place next month. Any guesses? Toyota will be unveiling its Creta rivalling product, the Hyryder. The event will be held on the 1st of July. This means that there is not much time left and this is exactly when more spy shots and information should start coming in. And this is what has exactly happened today. Today, the Toyota Hyryder sans camouflage has been spied. The car has been spied during an ad shoot, looking at the setting. So, what details does the latest spy shot give? Let’s find out in this article.
What information does the spy shot reveal?
We can only spot the front fascia of the SUV, however, with the camouflage absent, some interesting details can be made out. Firstly, the car’s name can be confirmed from this spy shot. Toyota has ultimately decided to call it the ‘Urban Cruiser Hyryder’. Moreover, we can clearly see the DRL pattern that blends with the front grille’s chrome element. We can see a big radiator grille occupying maximum part of the bumper. Below it we can see a silver skid plate. Since only the front fascia is visible, we cannot make out much detail about rest of the car. However, looking at the design so far, do you find it interesting?

The earlier spy shots have revealed that the car will be as big as the other C-segment SUVs. This SUV will be shared with Maruti as well which will enter the market sometime later. It will come based on Toyota’s DNGA platform which has been derived from the TNGA platform. As far as engine options are concerned, the SUV is set to get a hybrid engine option. How do we know this? This is what ‘Hy’ in ‘Hyryder’ signifies; hybrid. A 1.5-litre hybrid engine from Toyota is touted to power this SUV. Another engine is also said to be a part of the package, mostly the 1.5-litre Maruti engine which comes with mild-hybrid technology. The 1.5-litre engine from Maruti is touted to come with manual and automatic gearbox options. The 1.5-litre unit from Toyota is touted to come with manual as well as a CVT gearbox.
Toyota Hyryder spied – Features
Features are expected to be made available in abundance since the competition already has been banking on these features for many years now. Recent spy shots confirmed that a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, push button start-stop and 360-degree parking camera will be made available. Other features that we can expect include ventilated seats, a sunroof, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, etc.
Pricing
As far as pricing is concerned, we expect the car to be positioned somewhere around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) to take on the rivals. Strong points of the Toyota and Maruti SUV will be the hybrid engines that will enter the market to offer maximum fuel-efficiency in the segment at a reasonable price. Moreover, Maruti and Toyota’s hassle-free ownership experience will be another point that could attract buyers towards these SUVs.
