Hyundai Tucson spotted testing in India! New details
In India, Hyundai is currently focusing to target the SUV market. To take in the market strongly, the brand is making cars for the Indian market and is also bringing products from its global portfolio. Hyundai confirmed that they would launch the Hyundai Tucson very soon. Now, we have spy shots of the Hyundai Tucson being tested on Indian roads. What was spotted?
The heavily camouflaged Hyundai Tucson was spotted testing on highways. Globally, Hyundai sells Tucson long-wheelbase in the USA and Tucson short-wheelbase in the European markets. From the leaks, we can clearly say that the long-wheelbase version of the Tucson is being tested here. Hyundai was anyways expected to launch the long wheelbase version of the Tucson in India. This will be a five-seater. Apart from this, we also expect a seven-seater variant to be on the cards.
Design
The new Hyundai Tucson looks very sharp and aggressive. It carries out Hyundai’s new ‘Sensual Sportiness’ design language. You get sharp and aggressive creases all over the body. Overall, this SUV looks sportier and is expected to be appreciated by all age groups.
Engine
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is expected to get a 2.0-litre petrol engine capable of making 150bhp & 192bhp of torque. While the other engine would be a 2.0-litre diesel that could make 182bhp & 400Nm of torque. Both engines will come mated to a six-speed manual and automatic gearbox. Also, we expect that the Tucson would be available in 2WD & 4WD options for better off-roading capabilities.

Hyundai Tucson being a flagship from the brand is expected to come loaded with many modern features. We expect that inside, the new Tucson would get a 10.25-inch infotainment system, premium sound system, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, digital infotainment system, and many more. The key highlight is however expected to be ADAS technology.
Hyundai Tucson spotted – Price and Competition
Hyundai will launch Tucson in the second half of 2022. It being a premium SUV is expected to come at a premium pricing as well. With all the features, we expect the lower trim of the Hyundai Tucson to start from somewhere around Rs 28 lakhs whereas the top trim might go up to Rs 35 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
