India is currently witnessing an electric vehicle boom. People have started to consider EVs as their next purchase. Recently, the CEO of Citroen has confirmed that they are going to launch an entry-level, affordable electric vehicle in India. Looks
The Citroen EV would come based on the C3 hatchback’s platform. The new Citroen C3 will be built on the CMP modular platform. This chassis is compatible to house EV-specific components as well. The EV would carry on the same Citroen family design.
Features
The Citroen C3 based electric vehicle is expected to be a feature-loaded car. The interior could be very similar to the C3. Inside, a minimalistic steering wheel with controls for infotainment mounted on it could make its way to the electric car as well. It might get an all-digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment system, regenerative modes, etc. Availability of such features would definitely enhance the VFM quotient of this EV.
Rs 8 lakhs EV – Motor and range
We don’t have any strong highlights about its motor. However, the battery pack used in this car could be a lithium-ion unit rated with IP-67 dustproof and water resistance. We expect this car to offer a claimed range of around 300 km on a single charge.

It is confirmed that Citroen is going to launch this electric vehicle in 2023. Talking about the prices, Citroen states that they might localize the car up to 90% to keep the prices down. If they manage to keep the pricing of this EV around Rs 8 lakhs (ex-showroom), it definitely could become a hit product in India.
