The last few weeks have been quite interesting in the EV space. The major contributor behind this has been Tata Motors. Last month, it launched two electric concepts. Now Tata has followed this by launching the long-range version of the Nexon EV. Tata has aptly named this Nexon EV Max. In today’s article, we will talk about the launched Tata Nexon EV Max.

The Nexon EV Max pricing starts from Rs 17.74 lakh and goes to Rs 19.24 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in two trims with two charger options. The Nexon EV Max XZ+ trim with a 3.3kW charger is Rs 17.74 lakh and for the 7.2kW AC fast charger is Rs 18.24 lakh. The XZ+ Lux trim with 3.3kW charger is Rs 18.74 lakh and 7.2kW AC fast charger is Rs 19.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Nexon EV Max comes with a new intensi-teal colour with other colours like Daytona Grey and Pristine White.

Improved range

The biggest improvement in the Nexon EV Max is the new battery pack. It now comes with a 40.5kWh battery pack instead of the 30kWh one on the Nexon EV. This battery pack gives it an ARAI claimed range of 437km. It should translate to a real-world range of 320 to 350km. The Nexon EV Max also comes with two charging options- a normal 3.3kWH and 7.2kWh option for an extra cost. On a fast 50kW DC charger the Nexon EV Max can go from 0 to 80% charge in 56 mins.

The Nexon EV Max comes with a 143bhp motor that delivers 250Nm of torque. This is 14bhp and 5Nm more than the Nexon EV. The Nexon EV Max can go from 0 to 100kmph under 9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 140km/hr. Even with the bigger battery, Tata has not compromised on the boot space as it gets the same 350-litre boot space. Tata has also added adjustable regenerative braking modes at level 4 it can aid single pedal driving.

Now to the fun part, what all new features the Nexon EV max will get? The Nexon EV Max will get new features like wireless charging, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, ESP with I-VBAC, drive modes, adjustable regenerative braking, illuminated gear lever, ventilated seats, air purifer, and cruise control.

Tata has found great success in the EV space. It has sold over 9000 EV vehicles in the last quarter. According to Tata, it has grown its EV network from 20 cities to 75 cities. It plans to grow in another 75 cities in the coming time. Tata Motors in partnership with Tata Power has setup up 1300 charging stations in various parts of the country.
