Tata Safari 15,000km review- what is the SERVICE COST?
We have already done a lot of content on the Tata Safari in 2021 as well as in 2022. But in today’s article, we will be covering the 15,000km review of our long-termer Tata Safari. We will be covering the overall service costs and other details as well. Let’s begin.
Tata Safari 2022 – Service cost
The service interval of Safari is 15,000km or one year, whichever comes first. This service involves engine oil replacement, filter change, cleaning, alignment, etc. We used synthetic oil in our car. As this is a 2.0-litre engine, you can put up to 5.0-litre of oil. Synthetic oil is a bit more expensive than normal oil. So the cost of putting synthetic oil was Rs 5,000. If your running is more, you should consider putting synthetic oil. Combining other expenses, you will get a service bill of around Rs 10,000, which is quite decent for a Rs 25 to Rs 30 lakh car!
The wear and tear are quite low on the Safari, considering the high-quality parts used (we have not been using it gently too. The Safari comes with a BS6 stage 2 ready engine, which will be implemented next year.
Paint quality
The overall paint quality of the Safari is quite good. The gloss and the finish are also quite good. Nowhere do you feel the quality is bad. But from a maintenance point of view, if you do drive a lot on bad roads, you should pick a lighter colour like white, adventure persona as these colours will be easier to maintain. Dark colours will highlight any scratches or dents. If you are still considering a dark shade, then it is better to get PPF done.
Broken roads driving
The Safari is a great car to drive on highways. It is also good on bad roads. The Safari comes with multiple terrain modes, including the rough road mode. In this mode, the acceleration and torque change to a different tune to avoid wheel spin. It also gets off-road ABS enhancing braking on broken roads. This leads to an even shorter braking distance. The Safari also gets Wet mode making it better in rainy conditions.
The Safari is based on Land Rover’s Discovery Sport Platform adjusted for Indian conditions. In this, we add the terrain response system making it a very capable off-roader. The ride quality of Safari is quite good even on bad roads.
Tata Safari 2022- Visibility
The seating position of the Safari is unparalleled when it comes to viewing the entire bonnet, which is vital on such big SUVs in city traffic or the highways. Another feature that is not spoken much about in Safari is the Auto-hold. Auto-hold holds the car without pressing the brake which makes driving this big car in the city a little easier.
Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
Earlier, Safari didn’t have wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. But now, in its latest update, it gets wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. Other new things on Safari include the Dark edition, ventilated seats & air purifiers. It also got the Kaziranga edition with the Rhino badge.
Drive
The overall pickup & engine performance is quite good for such a big SUV. Even as an enthusiast, you will love Safari. In sports mode, the performance gets even better. Both the manual and automatic gearbox are good, but we will recommend the automatic for ease of driving. The heavy steering becomes so responsive on the highway. The steering of the Safari provides really good feedback and confidence.
Space
The third row of the Safari is quite usable. Other 7-seaters have space for children in the third-row. You can even compare the Safari with cars from higher segments. Third-row also gets AC vents, charging sockets and storage spaces.
Build quality
The Safari is quite a solid car making you feel secure. With the overall thud, stability, and comfort you feel very secure.
Tata Safari 2022- Music system
The Safari comes with JBL speakers. The quality is quite good from the speaker and the sub-woofers.
Final verdict
Our overall experience has been quite good after dicing the Safari for 15,000km. The Safari gets good mileage and drivalibity without compromising on performance and safety. If you are chauffeur driven, they should consider the 6-seater option with captain seats.
