Kia Seltos to become the next segment king
Kia’s newest launch, the Carens, recorded 7000 sales in March. But this success wouldn’t have been possible with its first vehicle, the Seltos. The Seltos single-handedly established the Kia brand in India. It continues to do well, but Kia is still giving it new updates to make it a better package. In today’s article, we will discuss the updated Kia Seltos 2022 and how it has the capacity to become the next segment king.
New gearbox
The updated Kia Seltos comes with an intelligent manual transmission (iMT) gearbox on its diesel engine. For starters, an iMT gearbox is a semi-automatic option with a clutch, but you have to manually slot in the gears. Kia offers it on Seltos petrol and now, due to its popularity, it has brought it to the diesel engine.
Updated Kia Seltos- Standard safety features
The image of Kia cars in terms of safety has been severely dented since the three-star crash test result of the Seltos. But Kia is trying to change this by offering some really good safety features as standard. The updated Seltos now gets a Highline TPMS, rear disc brakes, side airbags, ESC, VSM, HAC and brake assist standard across all variants.
Revised suspension
One of the major issues with the Seltos has been its firm ride quality. Due to the stiff suspension, you feel the bumps inside the cabin. But the updated Seltos now comes with a revised suspension setup. This revised suspension will give it a more comfortable ride.
Updated Kia Seltos- Other changes
The Seltos also get some minor changes like the addition of semi leatherette seats with white stitching in the HTE, HTK, and HTK+ variants. It also gets a new design for the 16-inch wheel covers on the HTE and HTK variants. Kia has also added an X-line logo on Indigo Pera seats.
Looking at all the above-mentioned updates, Kia India seems to have worked on every small niggle that the Seltos had and has really aimed at making this SUV the next segment king. We will not be surprised if we see this car touching the top of sales charts in the coming months.
