The EV space is slowly but steadily picking up pace in the Indian market. Tata has been one of the early adopters of EV technology. Tata’s Nexon EV is the best selling electric car in India. Now Tata is looking to bring a long-range model of the Nexon EV. This added range will help the Nexon EV take on the facelifted MG ZS EV. The Nexon EV long-range is expected to be launched in April. Now we have spotted a production-ready Nexon EV long-range in testing. In today’s article, let’s talk about the spotted car.

What was spotted?

A camouflaged car was spotted in Pune by one of our readers, Chinmay. From the overall silhouette, it is easy to figure out this is the Nexon. Looking closely, we can see this is the Nexon EV from the blue highlights on the grille and the alloy wheels. Tata is preparing to launch the Nexon EV long-range in the upcoming weeks. So Tata might be doing some final testing before the launch.

Big updates?

The biggest update on the long-range will be the new 40kWh battery pack. The updated model is expected to get a 400km ARAI claimed range, translating into a 300-320km real-world range. Currently, the Nexon EV offers a real-world range of 200 to 230km on a single charge. Tata might also give a more powerful charger for the long-range variant.

Other changes
