5 safety features Tata Motors needs to get soon

Tata Motors as a company made ‘safety’ an important point of consideration for buyers. Almost all products from Tata have scored above four stars safety ratings in the Global NCAP crash tests. However, Tata still needs to provide some important safety features. Even its flagship products like the Harrier and Safari offer some basic safety features. In this article, we have listed five features we would love to see in Tata cars.

6 airbags

Tata Nexon is India’s best-selling compact SUV But it only comes with two airbags. The Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz also have only two front airbags. The Harrier and Safari although offer six airbags on their top trims but just offer two airbags across other variants. However this is set to change since carmakers would be required to offer six airbags as standard in their cars as per government’s upcoming law.

ADAS

In India, currently, only two cars under 30 lakhs get the ADAS system – the Mahindra XUV700 and the MG Astor. So to make the competition more interesting, Tata must add level two ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-keep assists, Park assists, Automatic Emergency Braking, and other basic features on their flagship products like the Harrier and the Safari.

Blind-spot monitor

A blind-spot monitor is basically a system that helps us while changing lanes. In cars like the Harrier and Safari that have huge blind spots, it becomes important to have one. So, keeping this in mind, Tata must provide a blind-spot monitor for enhanced safety.

Upcoming Tata Features – 360-degree camera

A 360-degree camera comes in handy in tight parking spaces. Many competitors in the market provide this feature. So, Tata’s premium cars like Altroz, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari must get a 360-degree parking camera.

Upcoming Tata Features – All-disc brakes

Having disc brakes on all wheels is a good safety feature to have. So, if Tata adds up all-wheel disc brakes in all of the cars as standard, it might enhance the safety even more.
