The four-wheeler market has boomed very well after the pandemic. The importance of having a private vehicle has also increased ever since the lockdown was first implemented. Many carmakers are bringing new and affordable cars. The sub Rs 10 lakh segment sees the most number of buyers. So, in this article, we have listed upcoming cars under Rs 9 lakhs.
All-new Maruti Brezza
Maruti would be launching the all-new Brezza very soon. It will be loaded with many modern features like a 9.0-inch Suzuki Smartplay Pro Plus infotainment system, Suzuki Smart Connect, 360-degree parking camera, heads-up display and paddle shifters. It marks Maruti’s step into a new territory since it will be the first car from the brand to offer a sunroof. The new Brezza is expected to start from somewhere around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Maruti Alto
The Suzuki Alto is one of the most-selling entry-level hatchbacks in India. The new-generation of the Alto is going to launch in India very soon. It could get the new 998cc ‘K’ series engines that powers the Celerio. A new tuning is expected for the 796cc petrol engine as well to make it more fuel-efficient. It will mostly be made available with a CNG kit as well. The new Alto is expected to be launched between Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Maruti S-Presso update
Maruti has re-worked its 1.0-litre petrol engine. This engine debuted with the new Maruti Celerio. Now, this engine makes more power yet consumes less fuel. Maruti is now planning to offer this 1.0-litre engine with its other cars. The S-Presso is soon expected to get this engine.
Maruti Ignis update
Maruti Ignis is the most affordable product from Nexa. This car hasn’t received any major updates since the last facelift. However, we might soon see an update for Ignis. In the next update, it might get new touchscreen infotainment system and re-worked interiors. Along with that, it is also expected to get Maruti’s 1.2-litre Dual Jet engine that powers the new Baleno.
Upcoming Cars Under Rs 9 lakhs – Citroen C3
Citroen C3 falls under the sub-four-metre category. Although, dimension-wise, it would compete with the Tata Punch, but Citroen will be positioning it as a premium hatchback. This car would get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a manual & automatic gearbox. It would compete with Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza.
Upcoming Cars Under Rs 9 lakhs – Nissan 7-seater
Nissan and Renault are sister companies. Their new cars share the majority of parts like platform, engine, etc. Renault already has their compact seven-seater MPV, the Triber in the market. So, Nissan might also get their seven-seater MPV based on the Triber. Along with the naturally-aspirated engine, it might also get the powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine option that we see in the Nissan Magnite. It could be launched under the price bracket of Rs 9 lakhs (ex-showroom).
