Road-side parking is a major issue in Mumbai. To cope with this, Sanjay Pandey has given a unique solution. According to him, you will have to show proof that you have a parking spot before you can buy a new car.

New Mumbai parking law Wrong side driving

Wrong side driving is another menace. Sanjay Pandey has given strict instructions to his department that wrong side driving should not be tolerated. Earlier, there was a fine, but Sanjay Pandey has said that people caught driving on the wrong side will have to appear before the court and their vehicle will be impounded.

Remove khatara

Another initiative started by Sanjay Pandey is the ‘Remove Khatara’ initiative. The initiative relates to removing abandoned (khatara) vehicles, which were clogging the roads, leading to congestion and bottlenecks. Traffic police are removing 270 to 300 such cars every day.

Biking corridors

Sanjay Pandey is also looking to open special biking corridors in Mumbai. One of the tweets suggested that biking corridors will help people ride a bike to their workplace. Sunday mornings could be reserved for certain patches. Timings could be 6 to 9 or 7 to 10 in the morning. This plan is set to come into action from 27th March.
