The SUV market has seen a big boom worldwide. Every carmaker is already working on its new SUVs. But Honda thinks something different. They are working to bring another sedan to Indian market. In this article, we would know more about Honda’s plan on its new sedan.

Honda has been a very successful carmaker in terms of selling sedans. City is the most successful mid-sized sedan in India. Looking at this, they are planning to launch the City with a Hybrid petrol engine option here.

As the name suggests, Honda will get a hybrid system for its fifth generation City. It would get all the features from the current generation City. Along with that, the city hybrid will also get additional level two ADAS features like emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam assist, lane departure warning system, lane keep assist, and front collision warning system.

The Honda City Hybrid Engine will still get a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will produce a powertrain of 97bhp & 127Nm of torque. Additionally, it will have two electric motors attached to its front wheels. One electric motor will act as an integrated starter generator (ISG), integrated with the engine and the second motor will drive the car. It will be capable of producing 108 bhp & 253Nm of combined peak torque. Honda claims that this car will give a mileage of 27.5 kmpl.

Honda knows how to play the right game with sedans. The City is one of the top-selling cars for Honda ever since its launch. Despite the SUV trend, there is a segment of people who still like the styling and comfort of a sedan. So, Honda has a mindset of tackling this segment of buyers. Talking about the price, we expect that the Hybrid Honda City will start from a showroom price of somewhere between Rs 17.5 lakhs.
