Hyundai SUV plan to take on Tata Motors
Hyundai firmly held to its position as the second-largest carmaker in terms of sales in the Indian market for a very long time. However, not-so-long ago, Tata Motors overtook Hyundai to become the second-largest carmaker in terms of sales in the country. Although Hyundai did reclaim its position, but sensed the threat that Tata could pose on it if no serious action is taken. Keeping this in mind, Hyundai gearing up with an SUV plan to take on Tata Motors strongly. In this article, we will be taking a look at Hyundai’s SUV plan.
Hyundai Creta facelift
Hyundai’s show-stealer, the Creta will soon receive an update in the country. The facelift will come with a new exterior design inspired by the new-generation Tucson. The interiors are also expected to receive slight changes. The main highlight of the facelift would however be the addition of new features. ADAS, fully-digital instrument cluster, multi-colour ambient lighting, etc. are expected to be some of the important additions.
Hyundai SUV plan – Hyundai Ai3
Hyundai Ai3 will be a micro-SUV that would be a competition for Tata Punch. As of now, Tata Punch stands alone in this segment. The high sales of the Punch have attracted many carmakers along with Hyundai to enter this segment. The Ai3 is the code name for Hyundai’s upcoming micro-SUV. It will be a feature-rich SUV and will share quite a few elements from the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. It is expected to come with a starting price of Rs 5.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Venue facelift
Hyundai Venue is already a feature-rich compact SUV in its segment. It was launched in 2019 and it will get a facelift very soon in 2022. The facelift will get some additional features in order to take on the newer competition cars. These features will also improve the convenience and the overall value-for-money quotient of the Venue. We expect it to get a 360-degree parking camera, ventilated seats, heads-up display, and more Blue Link features.
Hyundai SUV plan – New generation Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai already sells the new generation Tucson in the foreign markets. The new generation comes with many features. It is soon expected to be launched in India. The global car gets all-new exterior as well as interior. It gets a big front grille with integrated LED DRLs, with the body now sharper, muscular, and modern. Features like a panoramic sunroof, advanced Blue Link connected car tech and level-2 ADAS are expected with the Tucson. The pricing would have to be kept competitive in order to beat the competition.
Hyundai Kona EV Facelift
Hyundai has already given the Kona EV a facelift in the international market. We do expect Hyundai to bring the Kona EV facelift to India as well. This car will compete with the MG ZS EV facelift and Tata Motors’ upcoming Nexon EV long range.
