Renault has had a difficult time surviving the cut-throat Indian market. It has enjoyed periods of great sales with cars like the Duster but has never been able to continue s good momentum. There is no official confirmation from Renault regarding the launch of the Arkana in India. But it is reportedly evaluating it for the Indian market. If launched in India, the Arkana will come via the CBU route. So the Arkana will be expensive, but Renault will be looking to justify the price with upmarket interiors and technology.

The front of the Arkana resembles the Captur. It gets C-shaped LED headlamps similar to the one we see on international models of Renault. The Arkana gets a sloping roof giving it that coupe-like design similar to the BMW X4. At the rear, it gets connected taillamps with sporty dual exhausts.

Arkana specifications

The new Arkana is based on Renault’s CMF-B platform. Globally, the Arkana comes with two petrol hybrid engine options. The first is 1.3-litre-turbo-petrol capable of producing 138bhp. This engine comes with a mild-hybrid setup. The second engine is 1.6-litre turbo-petrol with Renault’s E-tech.

Globally, the Renault Arkana comes loaded with features. Considering the Arkana will mostly come via the CBU route, we can expect the same features in India. It comes with a 9.3-inch infotainment system, blind-spot warning, fully digital instrument cluster, Bose premium sound system and a 360-degree camera.
