Maruti Baleno is one of the most successful hatchbacks in the Indian market today. It dominates the premium hatchback segment, beating the likes of the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. Maruti launched the Baleno in 2015 and since its launch, it has only gotten one facelift. So Maruti is now set to give it another refresh in the form of another facelift. Maruti has already started the teaser campaign for the Baleno. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., now has shared some exclusive details with us regarding the new Baleno.

Nexa Experience held a live chat with us. During this live chat, a lot of questions were answered about the upcoming Baleno. One such reveal was that the new Baleno will come with connected car tech. The Baleno already comes with Suzuki Connect, but the new Baleno will now come with heavily-updated connected car features.

The new Baleno is getting several subtle design changes. At the front, it will sport a new grille and new bumpers. The side profile is almost identical to the current model. Other exterior changes include new tail lamps, new alloy wheels and a new rear bumper. In the interiors, it will get an updated dashboard design with a new floating infotainment system. This new infotainment system will come with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, fast charging ports and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The new Baleno will carry the same engine options as the current model. It will come with a 1.2-litre engine and a 1.2-litre DualJet engine. Both the engines will come with a manual gearbox. Maruti is replacing the CVT automatic gearbox with an AMT gearbox on the new Baleno.
