Mahindra Scorpio continues testing – LAUNCH NEAR?

Mahindra has built its identity on its rugged SUV lineup. The Scorpio and the Bolero have had a major contribution in building this image. Now Mahindra is looking to give both these cars a generational update to continue their domination. Scorpio will be the first one to get this update as Mahindra is already testing the car. We have spotted the Mahindra Scorpio numerous times hinting at a launch sometime soon. Now we have obtained new spy shots of the Scorpio testing in Mumbai. In todays article, we will discuss the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio.

What has been spotted?

The heavily camouflaged car was spotted on Jogeshwari – Vikhroli Link Road in Mumbai. It is easy to figure out that it is the new Scorpio considering the upright height and side-opening rear door. From the images, we can spot a rear wiper, a shark fin antenna and alloy wheels. Mahindra might be testing the Scorpio under traffic conditions.

Expected specifications

The new generation Scorpio Sting will get both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel engine will be a 2.2-litre mHawk engine. It is expected to come with a tuning similar to the MX variant of the XUV700. The petrol engine will be a 2.0-litre mStallion engine similar to the Thar. Both the engines will come with manual & automatic gearbox options. It is also expected to get a mild-hybrid setup. We also expect Mahindra to give it a 4WD system on the top variant. 

Mahindra Scorpio launch – Expected features

Mahindra will surely load the Scorpio with features to attract new tech-savvy buyers. It is expected to come with features like an 8.0-inch or 10.0-inch infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a basic version of AdrenoX, third-row AC vents and charging points, electric sunroof, connected car tech and cruise control.
