Features the S-Cross needs to take on the Hyundai Creta
Maruti Suzuki is a high volume seller in India. Most of their cars are best sellers in their respective segments. But there is one segment that the brand hasn’t been able to dominate. We are referring to the C-SUV segment. This segment is dominated by the Hyundai Creta, thanks to the long list of features. Maruti, in order to take on the Creta will have to load the S-Cross with features to take on the Creta. Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
As of now, the Creta does not come with ADAS. But ADAS is quickly becoming a norm in India. So Creta will be getting ADAS in its next facelift. To counter this, Maruti should also bring ADAS for the S-Cross. The new-generation S-Cross launched in Italy also comes with ADAS.
New hybrid system
Most of the C-segment SUVs do not give good mileage. So, we expect Maruti to implement a new hybrid setup on the S-Cross. This hybrid setup will get it improved mileage and performance figures.
Sunroof
Maruti was quite vocal about not offering sunroofs in any of its cars. However, the leaked images of new-generation Brezza revealed a sunroof, hinting that Maruti has finally given in to the demand. So we can also expect a sunroof with the S-Cross soon. But if Maruti wants to take on the Creta, it needs to bring a panoramic sunroof in the S-Cross.
Ventilated seats
Ventilated seats are quickly becoming a must-have feature in modern cars. They provide great comfort in our hot and humid climate conditions. Most cars in the C-segment come with ventilated seats. Maruti should bring this feature in the new S-Cross.
Ambient lighting
Ambient lighting is another nifty feature that enhances the overall cabin experience. Almost all new cars above Rs 8 lakh come with ambient lighting. So Maruti should give it this basic feature to increase the overall appeal of the cabin.
360-degree camera
The 360-degree camera is an important feature that we think all big cars should come with. It can be really helpful while navigating through tight spots. This feature can help the S-Cross take on the Hyundai Creta.
Connected car tech
The S-Cross currently comes with connected car tech but is just a basic adaptation of the overall tech. Maruti should give it a better connected car tech. This system should include remote engine start/stop, vehicle health, vehicle tracking, etc.
Bigger touchscreen
Big infotainment systems have become an important selling point. The Creta comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system. In comparison, the S-Cross comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Maruti should look to give it a bigger touchscreen with an improved user interface.
Wireless charging and connectivity
Wireless tech has evolved a lot in the past few years. It has become quite responsive and reliable. As a feature, it provides that uncluttered cabin experience. Combined with wireless phone connectivity, it provides great convenience. We expect Maruti to add this feature to the S-Cross.
