MG has already launched the ZS EV facelift outside India. The facelift model will get a bigger 51 kWh battery. The new battery will give it a claimed range of around 480km. MG is currently testing the car in India so we can expect a launch in the upcoming weeks. 

Tata Nexon EV update

Nexon EV is the best selling electric car in the Indian market. Though it is a best seller, Tata is looking to update the Nexon EV to increase its range. It will get a bigger 40kWh battery pack that will give it a claimed range of over 400km. The new model is not expected to get any major exterior changes or added features.

Hyundai Kona was the brand’s first electric car in India. Though it is a good product, it has failed to attract customers. Hyundai is looking to improve its sales by bringing a facelift. The updated model is already available in the global markets. The facelift comes with a new exterior design. Globally, the Kona facelift comes with two battery packs, a 64kWh and a 39.2kWh battery pack. It is expected to be launched in mid-2022.   

Volvo XC40 Recharge

Volvo is reportedly looking to launch its electric SUV, the XC40 Recharge, in India. It will be Volvo’s first electric car in India. The XC40 Recharge is the electric version of the XC40 compact SUV, which it sells in India. The EV comes with a twin-motor setup with a claimed range of 418kms. Volvo will load the XC40 with a lot of comfort and safety features.

Mahindra, like other manufacturers, is looking to bring an electric avatar of its XUV300. It is rumoured to be called the XUV400. The XUV400 will be the first car to be based on Mahindra’s MESMA platform (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture). We can expect a range of around 400kms on a single charge.
