Honda is a very well-known brand in India. It is best known for its sedans the Honda city and the Amaze. Recently the trend has shifted from sedans to SUVs. Honda is in news for working on their SUV Lineup. Honda had revealed the production version of the N7X concept called the new generation BR-V in Indonesia. In this article, we will discuss why Honda should bring back the BR-V to India.
Seven-seaters are trending
If you check the current trend, all major car makers have a seven-seater in their product line-up. Hyundai has Alcazar, Mahindra has XUV700, Tata has Safari, while Maruti has Ertiga. Honda should bring in this SUV as their seven-seater contender to compete with these cars.
Better recall value
Honda used to previously sell BR-V, which was more of an MPV than an SUV. The new generation Honda BR-V has an SUV design and can be a worthy contender in the premium seven-seater SUV segment. The BR-V new generation is 4490mm in length, 1780mm in width, 1685mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2700mm. The previous BR-V was a decently popular product and had a good recall value amongst car buyers. They can easily relate this new BR-V to its previous version.
Honda working on C-segment SUV
Honda is in news for working on a C-segment SUV that will compete with other SUVs like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Bringing this car can fill the gap as currently Honda has got no product that fits in any of the SUV segments ( C-segment SUV, mid-sized SUV, and the seven-seater SUV).
BR-V launched in Indonesia
Honda BR-V was recently launched in Indonesia. Bringing the BR-V to India will add a strong product to Honda’s portfolio. Also, the BR-V has the same 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine as the Honda City, which means servicing and spares of this SUV will be equally easy for Honda. The brand can also plan for localizing the BR-V and start manufacturing this SUV in India.
