2022 Maruti Baleno to get never seen before features
Maruti Suzuki being one of the largest carmakers in India had been dormant for quite some time. However, Maruti is now getting ready to launch new cars to attract even more customers. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be the brand’s next attempt to attract new buyers. In this article, we will discuss what the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has to offer.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno New Design
The new Baleno is expected to get a flatter grille and bid goodbye to the previous curvy design. The front fascia will carry a wider grille along with newly designed headlamps and DRLs. The bonnet will also be newly designed and will not stretch up to the grille. At the rear, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will get revised angular tail lamps and new rear bumpers. The 2022 Maruti Baleno is also expected to get a newly designed set of alloy wheels.
New Interiors
The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will get a revised dashboard as well that will carry a new, bigger touchscreen infotainment system. This will be the same nine-inch touchscreen that we have seen in the new-generation Suzuki S-Cross. The dashboard layout is also expected to be similar to that of the new S-Cross.
Engine
Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine that comes in two states of tune viz. standard, and DualJet. The standard 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 82bhp & 113Nm of torque while the DualJet gets Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid technology that produces 89bhp & 113Nm of torque. The engine options are expected to be the same. These engines are offered with a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox unit. A single clutch automatic or AMT gearbox as seen in the Swift will be offered in the 2022 Baleno. Offering an AMT gearbox instead of CVT might sound like a step backward, but Maruti Suzuki wants to make the automatic variants more accessible as they will be more affordable than the CVT variants by Rs 50,000.
Features
The new generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno is also expected to get some new features like auto LED headlamps, automatic climate control, wireless charging, cruise control, and more. The car is also expected to get an embedded SIM and could offer more connected car tech features. Maruti currently offers Suzuki Connect telematics solutions for connected car tech across its model range. Currently, this system offers limited features. The new connected car tech system will offer more features along with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity.
Improved Safety Features
The 2022 Baleno will have its primary focus on the safety of its occupants. The top-end variants will get up to six airbags – driver and passenger airbags along with curtain airbags for both front and rear passengers. Electronic Stability Program (ESP), could be offered in higher models of Baleno. Maruti Suzuki will also provide a thicker grade of steel on the exterior body panels on the chassis adding a more robust feel to the car. All these additions to the Baleno will improve its safety and built quality. Maruti Suzuki will offer a heads-up display unit (HUD) on the 2022 Baleno.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Launch & Pricing
The new generation Baleno will make its way to India next month. Since the new car will come loaded with features, we expect the pricing to be on the higher side, something that competes with other competition cars like the Hyundai i20.
