Hyundai to get new Skoda Slavia competition
Skoda recently unveiled its mid-sized sedan, the Skoda Slavia for India. This has caused a stir in the sedan segment here. Hyundai which follows Maruti Suzuki and is the second-largest carmaker in India is ready with a plan to greet Skoda Slavia. Hyundai is planning for a new Skoda Slavia competition sedan that will be launched in the coming time. We are talking about the updated Hyundai Verna. In this article, we will discuss what the new Hyundai Verna has to offer in 2022.
New Skoda Slavia Competition Design
The Hyundai Verna that is currently available for sale is very stunning. The car is based on the brand’s modern design language, ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. The next-generation Verna will follow the same design language. Newly designed headlamps and tail lamps are expected on the new Hyundai Verna. This will give it a fresh look. The car is also expected to get newly designed bumpers and alloy wheels. The interiors of the new Hyundai Verna will also be updated. The dashboard will be reworked to give the car a distinct look and feel on the inside. The car will also feature ambient lighting that will enhance the premium feel of this car.
New Skoda Slavia Competition Specifications
Currently, the Hyundai Verna is 4440mm in length, 1729mm in width, 1475mm in height with a wheelbase of 2600mm, and ground clearance of 165mm. The new Hyundai Verna is expected to get improved dimensions. There could be a slight change in the wheelbase that will increase space inside the cabin, resulting in better legroom and knee room. Cabin space is a major factor while selecting a sedan. With improved dimensions, the cabin will feel much spacious than before.
The engine options will continue to be the same. However, the engines could be tuned to produce more power to give the driving feel a new flare. Honda is in news for getting a proper hybrid version of its popular sedan, the Honda City. We expect a similar move from Hyundai to introduce a hybrid engine in the new generation Verna. Just like the i20 got the N Line variant, Hyundai could get an N Line variant for the Verna as well.
Features
Hyundai is known for loading its products with the latest features and technology. We expect the new generation Verna, to be feature-loaded. The Verna will be equipped with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, remote engine start-stop, ambient lighting along some other features. The car will get all four disc brakes for improved safety. Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity and advanced connected car technology will also be available in the new generation Verna.
Launch
We have not yet received any official confirmation from Hyundai regarding the next-generation Verna. However, we are expecting Hyundai to launch this car sometime in 2022.
