Mahindra as a brand has become synonymous with SUVs in India. The brand currently sells nine cars and seven out of these cars are SUVs. The recently-launched Mahindra XUV700 created a record for receiving 25,000 bookings within the first hour of its booking, However, there are some really good SUVs from Mahindra that are overshadowed by popular products from other brands. In this article, we will discuss three such underrated cars from Mahindra.

Mahindra Bolero Neo

Mahindra has placed the Bolero Neo in the sub-four-metre compact SUV segment in India. The Mahindra Bolero Neo is a rear-wheel drive car with 1.5-litre BS6 compliant diesel engine. This diesel engine produces 100bhp and 260Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The base variant of Mahindra Bolero Neo, N4 is priced at Rs 10.52 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and the top-end variant N10 (O) is priced at Rs 13.36 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The Bolero Neo gets a rugged look and has a very limited audience that considers this car. 

Mahindra Alturas G4

The Mahindra Alturas G4 is a full-size seven-seater SUV. The Alturas G4 gets a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 185bhp and 420Nm of torque mated to a seven-speed automatic torque converter transmission. The Alturas G4 also gets a 4WD system as an option. The Alturas G4 with two-wheel drive system is priced at Rs 35.01 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and the 4WD variant is priced at Rs 38.62 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Mahindra XUV300

The XUV300 is placed in the sub-four-metre compact SUV segment by Mahindra. The Mahindra XUV300 is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 109bhp and 200Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. The car gets gearbox options of either a six-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The base variant W4 1.2-litre petrol is priced at Rs 9.32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and the top-end variant W8(O) diesel with AMT gearbox is priced at Rs 16.15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The car faces competition from other SUVs like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The car gets a very boxy look with 257-litres of boot space that seems inadequate when compared to other cars that compete against the Mahindra XUV300.
