Five things we wish the Tata Nexon had
Tata Motors is slowly but steadily growing with new and existing cars doing good sales. One of the cars that has been responsible for the growth of Tata Motors is the Nexon. The car represents Tata Motors in the sub-four-metre compact SUV segment and competes with other popular products like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite and Mahindra XUV300. Tata Nexon is an all-rounder with good looks and a decent list of features. But to stay ahead in the competition, the Tata Nexon must get some better features that will make it a great product. In this article, we will discuss five features that the Tata Nexon should get.
Automatic Gearbox
Currently, the Nexon gets an AMT gearbox that is offered along with petrol as well as a diesel engine. The AMT gearbox lacks the smoothness of a proper automatic gearbox. Other cars that compete against the Nexon do offer proper automatic gearboxes. A DCT or a CVT gearbox should be offered with the Tata Nexon. Tata should try to improve the existing AMT and offer the altitude tuning maps feature that is currently available in the gearbox of Tata Punch if that is an option.
Infotainment System
A bigger touchscreen infotainment system could attract more buyers for the Tata Nexon. The car comes with a 7.0-inch infotainment system while the cars that compete against it get bigger touchscreens. We also expect Tata to improve the UI of their infotainment screen for a much better user-friendly experience.
Instrument Cluster
The Tata Nexon gets a blacked-out fully digital instrument cluster, it’s hard to read while driving sometimes. A semi-digital instrument cluster similar to Altroz and Nexon EV will be much better and easy to read. This will be a good feature to be added to the Nexon.
Headlights
Tata Nexon comes equipped with halogen projector headlamps. Cars competing against the Nexon get full-LED headlamps. Better headlights with LED lights will improve visibility and make driving safer at night. This could be a great feature that can be added to the Nexon.
Better Ergonomics
Tata can work in the ergonomics department of the Nexon. The centre console currently lacks space to store basic things like cell phone and keys. The cup holders don’t have enough space to store something else if the space is occupied by cup holders. The Nexon could offer some more soft touch points in the cabin. Tata Motors can work on these small details to enhance customer satisfaction.
