2022 Hyundai Creta – facelift or features?
The Hyundai Creta is one of the best selling SUVs in the Indian market. It is popular for its wide variant spread and segment-first features. But in the last few months, the sales of Creta have dropped drastically. It has dropped out of the top10 selling cars list for the first time in a long while. The major contributor to these sales drops has been the semiconductor shortage. But some of it is also due to newer competition cars like Mahindra XUV700, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun eating into the sales of Creta. Hyundai knows this and is looking to bring a facelift next year. But which facelift will Hyundai bring the Russian update or a proper facelift like Indonesia? In today’s article, we will see the 2022 Hyundai Creta- facelift or features?
Russian Creta
In June this year, Hyundai unveiled the Creta in the Russian market with some design changes. It got a different grille, different bumpers at both ends and some interior changes. The front grill of the Russian Creta has a studded grille instead of horizontal chrome stripes. At the rear, the taillamps extend into the tailgate with no connecting reflective strip in the middle. Other than this, it gets no new features. If Hyundai does bring this Creta, it will be more of an update than a proper facelift.
Indonesian Creta
Recently Hyundai unveiled the Creta in the Indonesian market with a completely new design and added features. The Design of this Creta is inspired by the 4th generation Tucson. It gets a pearl-shaped grille with LED DRLs seamlessly integrating into this grille. The headlamps are placed a bit lower with more squared-off edges. At the rear, it gets different shaped tail lamps and tailgates. In the interiors, it gets a new digital instrument cluster. This instrument cluster is taken from the Hyundai ALcazar. One of the biggest additions to this Creta is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). In its ADAS, it gets features like lane following assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, blind-spot collision avoidance etc.
Which Hyundai Creta will India get in 2022?
As mentioned above, the Russian Creta will be more of an update than a facelift. Considering the competition, Creta needs a proper facelift with design changes and features. The Indonesian Creta will be ideal for this as it also gets ADAS which is fast becoming the norm in the Indian market. So we expect Hyundai to bring the Indonesian Creta to the Indian market as a facelift in 2022.
