Next generation Mahindra Scorpio – Should you wait for it?

Mahindra, as a manufacturer, is known for its rugged SUV lineup. Currently, Mahindra is updating its SUV lineup to give them a modern look. It has already launched the XUV700 that has been received well by the customers. Mahindra has already got 50,000 bookings for the XUV700. The next Mahindra car to get a new generation will be the Scorpio. In today’s article, we will discuss if you should wait for the next generation Mahindra Scorpio in 2022.

Exterior design

The new generation Scorpio will get an aggressive design language like the XUV700. It will get sharp LED headlamps and a DRL design. It will also get a big grille with Mahindra’s new twin-peaked logo in the middle. This new generation Scorpio will get redesigned bumpers and fog lamps.  The side profile will get an extended look with a new alloy wheel design.  The rear of the car will get new taillamps and bumpers. These changes will give the car a very good road presence. 

Mahindra Scorpio 2022- Interior design

Mahindra will look to give the new generation a modern interior layout. The interiors are expected to take some inspiration from the XUV700. It will get a central touchscreen in the middle flanked by vertical AC vents on both sides. It will get a dual-zone climate control unit with AC controls similar to the XUV700. Other than this it will get a sunroof and 360-degree camera.

Specifications

The new-generation Scorpio is expected to get both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine will be the 2.0-litre mStallion engine that also powers the Thar. The diesel engine will be the 2.2 mHawk engine that powers the XUV700. Both these engines will be offered with a different tune than the Thar and XUV700. Both engines will get manual and automatic gearbox options. Mahindra might even offer a mild-hybrid setup on the Scorpio.

Mahindra is expected to load the Scorpio with a lot of features like it did with the XUV700. It will get features like a 10-inch infotainment system, front parking sensors, a basic version of AdrenoX, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate, premium sound system, 3rd-row charging spots and AC vents.
