Mahindra is known for its SUV lineup. It has been making rugged and robust SUVs for the Indian market for quite some time now. SUVs like the Scorpio and Bolero have been its mainstays in its SUV lineup. The Bolero is especially popular in rural areas due to its rugged nature. So the Bolero is an important product for Mahindra. It also does duty in the commercial sector. Currently, Mahindra is updating all their SUVs, so we think Bolero will also get a new generation soon. Exterior design
Mahindra will retain Bolero’s current looks and rugged nature. At the front, it will get a new front grille with Mahindra new twin-peaked logo. It will also get a new LED headlight design, sleek LED headlamps, new bumpers and skid plates. Pratap Bose, who designed most of the newer Tata cars, will design the new generation of the Bolero.

Mahindra will look to add a premium feel to the interiors. The Bolero will get a modern dashboard layout with a lot of practical storage spaces in between. Most likely, it will continue with its current beige colour interiors. It will get a touchscreen infotainment system, all power windows, adjustable steering wheel and rear AC vents.
Specifications
The Bolero will continue with its ladder on frame architecture. Mahindra uses the same architecture on the new generation Thar. On the engine front, it will get the 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the XUV300. This engine is capable of producing 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. Another possible option will be the 2.2-litre diesel engine that powers the Thar. This engine is capable of 130bhp and 320Nm of torque. Like the current Bolero, it will only come with diesel engine options. Transmission options will include manual and automatic gearboxes. Some variants will also get 4 wheel drive.
Mahindra Rs 7 lakh SUV pricing and launch
Currently, the Bolero starts from Rs 8.52 lakh, but we think this new generation will start from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). This is considering how aggressively Mahindra has priced the XUV700. Mahindra has confirmed that it will launch this new generation between 2023 and 2024. Most likely, it will be launched in 2024.
