Scared of Mahindra XUV700 waiting period, wait for this car?

The new Mahindra Scorpio is the next car that we expect Mahindra to launch. The recently launched XUV700 is currently overbooked and the waiting period is almost six months. For someone who is planning to wait for six months to get delivery of XUV700. Should buyers wait for Mahindra Scorpio that would get launched by the time XUV700 gets delivered? Mahindra Scorpio Dimensions

The XUV700 is 4695mm in length, 1890 in width, 1755 in height with a wheelbase of 2750mm. Although we do not have the exact dimensions of the Scorpio, the spy shots are good enough to tell the car will be equally big as this is expected to be offered in five-seater and seven-seater versions.

Mahindra Scorpio Engine

Currently, the XUV700 gets a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine that produces 200bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre mHawk engine capable of producing 185bhp and 450 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a manual and a torque converter gearbox plus the diesel engine gets the option of all-wheel drive. A similar engine setup with a different state of tune is expected on the new Mahindra Scorpio.

Features

The new Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be equally feature-loaded as the XUV700. Some of the features that we expected that will be common between XUV700 and the new Scorpio like wireless charging, connected car tech, a sunroof, third-row AC vents & charging ports, front parking sensors, a touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and cruise control.

Should a Mahindra XUV700 buyer wait?

The waiting period for XUV700 is almost six months. We expect Mahindra Scorpio to be launched somewhere in early 2022. So waiting period for Scorpio to get launched seems more justified. You get a new model compared to XUV700 with almost the same engine, dimension, and similar features. The car might be launched at very competitive pricing just like they did for XUV700.
