Today, Tata Motors has launched its micro SUV in India. The newly launched Tata Punch will be made available for test drives and bookings really soon. In This article, we discuss what Tata Motors has packed in Punch for us, what all it offers and more.

Design

The Punch is built on the ALFA-ARC platform. The Punch continues to carry the Tata SUV DNA. The Front fascia resembles a lot with the Nexon, with the eyebrow LED DRLs and headlight cluster below the DRLs. The upper grille is closed off with Tata Logo in the middle. The bumper gets a grille with fog lamps and tri-arrow elements on it. The side profile of the Punch comes with muscular fenders that complete its SUV looks. The rear of the Punch gets taillights that look a bit similar to the Nexon.

Specifications

The punch gets the new-generation 1.2litre Revotron petrol with Dynapro technology mated to a six-speed manual and AMT transmission. Tata motors didn’t disclose the power figures in the reveal. Tata Motors might also add a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5litre turbocharged diesel engine option later on depending on the demand of the Punch. It also gets Tata’s new traction pro control helping the car in low traction environment and mud.

Dimensions

As this car will be entering the sub-four-meter segment, the length is expected to be somewhere around 3950mm. Other details regarding the dimensions are currently not available, so we cannot comment on the width, height, wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 187mm and water wading capacity of 370mm. It gets a boot space of 366-litres.

Features

Just like Altroz and Nexon, the Punch also comes loaded with features. The list of features includes projector headlamps, DRLs, LED tail lights,15/16-inch wheels, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, automatic headlamps,7.0-inch floating touch screen infotainment system, Android Auto / Apple Car Play, automatic AC, cruise control, steering mounted controls, push-button start/stop, reverse parking camera & sensors, rear AC vents, and semi-digital instrument cluster.

Tata Punch variants and pricing

Tata has revealed the variant list of the Punch. it comes with 4 variants- Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. Tata has opened the bookings for Punch from today for a amount of Rs 21,000. Tata didn’t reveal the pricing of the Punch in the reveal. We expect it to start from Rs 6 lakhs(ex-showroom).
