Yamaha Aerox 155 – Replacement for your motorcycle?
Today, Yamaha has launched its maxi-sports scooter in India. This is a scooter with a futuristic and sporty design. Yamaha has named this scooter Aerox 155. In this article, we discuss what Yamaha will be offering the Indian masses the Aerox155.
Yamaha Aerox 155 Price
Yamaha will place this scooter in a 150-160cc premium segment which is currently dominated by Suzuki Burgman and Aprilia SR160. So the price is also going to be very competitive and around Rs 1.29 Lakh (ex-showroom). Yamaha Aerox 155 will mainly compete against the Aprilia SR160.
Yamaha Aerox 155 Design
The Yamaha Aerox 155 is a maxi-scooter with a futuristic design. The Aerox155 gets a proper big scooter look and feel with a long exhaust which almost looks similar to a motorcycle exhaust. The Aerox 155 gets a 5.8-inch fully digital LCD instrument cluster and all-LED headlamps and tail light. The Scooter comes with a smartphone connectivity module and will have features like guide me to my scooter and location sharing. The Scooter gets 14-inches wheels which seem large for a scooter. The front wheel gets a disc brake along with telescopic suspension and rear drum brake along with twin gas-filled shock absorbers. The Aerox 155 will come with single-channel ABS. The Aerox155 gets a ground clearance of 145mm, which means you need not worry about scraping curbs and speed bumps. The under-seat storage is spacious at 24.5Litre. The Aerox 155 also gets an external fuel lid for its 5.5 litre fuel tank, so no more getting off the scooter when you stop for re-fueling.

The New Yamaha Aerox 155 is available in the following three colors and variants Racing Blue, Grey Vermillion and the MotoGP Edition – Hybrid Disc
Yamaha Aerox155 Specifications
The Yamaha Aerox 155 gets the same engine that we have seen in the Yamaha R15 Version 3. The engine is a 155cc VVT (Variable Valve Adjustment ) unit equipped with liquid cooling. The engine is BS6 compliant and produces 14.74bhp and 14Nm of torque. The engine is tuned to deliver 4bhp less than the R15 but it’s still 4 bhp more than what the Aprilia SR160 produces. The Aerox155 gets a Smart Motor Generator System for quiet engine starts, whereas the Stop & Start System, boosts fuel efficiency.
Features
The Yamaha Aerox 155 comes loaded with features like a Smart Key, push-button start-stop, variable valves adjustment, Smartphone connectivity, side stand engine cut-off switch, and a USB charging port (optional) in the glove box.
