The sub-compact SUV segment is one of the most rapidly growing segments in the Indian market. This segment is popular for cars with high ground clearance and SUV feel in a more compact package. The XUV300 is one of the best cars in this segment. It competes with cars like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and tata Nexon. Manufacturers keep updating their products to keep them fresh in this segment. So Mahindra is bringing an update to the XUV300 to improve its sales. In today’s article, we will be looking at this XUV300 new variants.

Mahindra XUV300 ground clearance

Mahindra is said to be introducing the 1.2-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engines to the Mahindra XUV300 lineup. The mStallion 2.0-litre engines are used on Mahindra cars like the Thar and XUV700. This new engine is capable of producing 128bhp and 230Nm of torque. This will make it the most powerful engine in its segment. These mStallion engines are developed in-house by Mahindra to incorporate tech like direct injection and overboost function. 

Other specs of the XUV300

Currently, the XUV300 comes with petrol and diesel engine options. Its petrol engine is a 1.2-litre that makes 108bhp and 200Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre engine that produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. It comes with manual and AMT transmission. It is unclear whether the new engine is replacing the current 1.2-litre or will they co-exist.  

XUV300 new variants features

These new variants will come with the same amount of features. The XUV300 comes with features like a 7-inch infotainment system, electric sunroof, heated ORVMs, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and dual-zone climate control. Safety features include dual-front airbags, pre-tensioner, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. The top variant offers seven airbags, hill start assists, all four-disc brakes and front parking sensors.

Mahindra XUV300

The pricing of the XUV300 starts from Rs 9.21 lakh and goes to Rs 16.00 lakh. With this new engine, Mahindra is expected to ask for a premium of Rs 35-45k depending upon the variant. Mahindra is also expected to offer this new engine across all variants.
