New Maruti Celerio REVEALED in new patents
We are all aware of the new-generation Maruti Celerio that is coming soon to our market. The car has been spotted multiple times on testing and will be available in sometime at your nearest Maruti Arena dealership. The new Maruti Celerio is a very important car for Maruti. It will sit between the WagonR and the Swift. The new generation car is going to get a lot more than the out going model. In this article we will discuss those features, specs and expectations, plus the patent renderings that we have seen here.
New Maruti Celerio renderings, design
As seen below, the new Maruti Celerio will be a departure in design ideology from the old car. The new car is going to have a much more simple and rounder design language. Maruti is doing away with the boxy and sharp cuts that we see on the current Celerio. The headlights are round and seem smaller. The grille is also smaller and has a more subtle shape. There is a single strip that runs between the grille and joins the headlights. It could be a chrome piece. The lower bumper has housings for round fog lamps. We don’t know where the DRLs on this car would be placed. We except it to be in the headlamps.
The rear of the car is again very plain and we will a more sober design here. The tailights are small and the bumper indents give the car a buff look. The side of the new Maruti Celerio might not give away the dimensions but this car will be bigger. The new Celerio is going to be based on the Maruti Heartect platform. The same tall boy design and dimensions will continue.
Maruti Celerio other expectations
We do know that this car will come with the options of a manual and AMT gearbox. Engine options will include the Maruti WagonR 1.2-litre petrol mill. The car like many existing Maruti products will be offered with factory fitted CNG as standard. The new Celerio launch date has not been shared. We do know that this car was going to come in the month of May but has been delayed due to the lockdown and the shortage of semi-conductor chips. We hope that this car will now come next month. We expect an overall increase of Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 on this car from the outgoing model.
