Skoda Vision IN

The Skoda Vision IN will be the basis for Skoda’s new cars in 2021. It will be an SUV that will be specifically made for India. It will be based on the Skoda Kamiq. Skoda Vision IN – Our Expectations

The new Skoda SUV will be designed on Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 modular platform. The same architecture will also be used for the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV. It’s a locally-developed platform that’s claimed to combine “an optimum amount of space…the highest degree of versatility and state of the art technologies”. The car is expected to launch in March of 2021

2) Skoda Octavia

Skoda Octavia 4th gen

The BS6 emission norms had forced many manufacturers to discontinue their cars and Skoda Octavia was unfortunately one of them.  The Skoda Octavia was one of Skoda’s most popular offering. The German Czech automaker debuted a new fourth generation of the car in the European markets last year and the same model may make an appearance here.

Though its launch has been delayed a bit, the new Octavia has already been spied testing in India. The new model ditches the quad-headlamp setup of its predecessor and adopts the brand’s latest design language that brings it in line with the facelifted Superb launched earlier this year. On the inside, the cabin sees a thorough revamp as well, with a new dashboard design, a freestanding 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital dials. Launch of this sedan is expected to be in Q2 2021.

The new engine is already used in Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and Skoda Superb lineup. Except for the change of heart, the 7-seat Kodiaq will remain largely unchanged, with its smart styling, plush cabin and a host of features on offer.

4) Skoda Rapid

The current generation Skoda Rapid’s design looks quite outdated compared to the industry standards of the present time. The Skoda Rapid has been one of Skoda’s most popular cars in the country. People have loved the sedan for its performance and comfort.  The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus, which is a full-size sedan at Rs.7.99 lakh, is already a popular pick.

rapid rear

Like the production-spec Vision IN SUV, the upcoming sedan will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform that will bring in key improvements in terms of space and technology. With a high-level of local content, expect Skoda to price it smartly. In terms of powertrains, the Rapid’s 110hp, 1.0 TSI turbo-petrol motor will be carried forward, along with the 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions.
