The MUV or MPV segment which is quite popular in India has a number of competitors fighting for the top spot. According to the source, MPV segment foresees stagnation and grew only 3% YoY in Nov’20. No new launches in the segment may have led to the trend. Find out below which is the top-selling MUV/MPV for November.

1) Maruti EECO

Maruti Eeco is one of the cheapest, yet the top-selling MUV/MPV in our Indian car market. 11,183 units of the Maruti Eeco were sold during November 2020. The 2020 BS6 Maruti EECO comes with a 1196cc petrol engine with 40L of fuel capacity. The engine produces a maximum power output of 72 and a peak torque output of 98Nm.

The petrol engine promises a fuel economy of 16.11 kmpl. Many EECO buyers have agreed that the EECO produces close to 16kmpl in the real world scenario. That is a very good figure considering a 7-seater. For those of you family people who want more mileage at a cheaper cost, there is also the option of the factory-fitted CNG kit.  The S-CNG system as the company calls, promises 20.88km per kg.

2) Maruti Ertiga

Maruti always leads the sales chart and the Ertiga is close behind the Eeco. While Eeco is not preferred a lot for personal use, the Maruti Ertiga is a perfect cheap alternative to the Toyota Innova. 9,557 units of the Maruti Ertiga were sold during the month of November 2020.

While the majority of Maruti cars perform poorly in the safety department, the Ertiga surprised everyone by scoring 3-star rating in adult protection and 3-star rating in child safety protection. The 5-door MPV had all the safety equipment similar to Mahindra Marazzo during the test. Nexa’s premium Ertiga offering XL6 managed to sell 3,388 units in the month of November 2020. 3) Mahindra Bolero

With a powerful engine and SUV-looks, the Mahindra Bolero runs on a league of its own. 6,055 units of the Mahindra Bolero were sold during November 2020. Mahindra is SUV specialist and you may have come to the same conclusion by now. Old is Gold and Bolero proves this well.

Mahindra updated the car recently to comply with current safety standards. Rural market is the battleground for Bolero. Mahindra Bolero costs between Rs.7.64 to Rs.9.01 lakh (Ex-showroom) for the updated model. The Mahindra Bolero when first launched was a full-size SUV but Mahindra converted it into a compact SUV to make it more affordable and efficiency friendly.

4) Renault Triber

The Renault Triber took the Indian market by storm by promising to be the cheapest 7-seater car available in India. But like all false claims, the Renault Triber is a 5-seater car with large boot space for extra luggage. The Renault Triber fails miserably in many car buying parameters of the modern world. With an underpowered engine and lack of proper stability, it looks like Renault has taken cutting corner to a whole new level. Still Triber managed to sell 4,809 units in the month of November 2020. 5) Toyota Innova Crysta

No MPV/MUV list is complete without the big daddy of the segment, Innova. The Toyota Innova managed to sell only 2,192 units of the Crysta during the month of November 2020.
