Toyota may soon reveal an official facelift update for Toyota Yaris in the global markets soon. According to our sources, the car may be launched on July 25, 2020, in the Philippines and followed by other markets.

Launch in India?

The current generation Toyota Yaris was launched in the ASEAN region in 2013.  India, however, received the current-generation Toyota Yaris only in 2018.  The Toyota Yaris was not a huge success in the market. This car was recently introduced in the government marketplace GeM for sale at an attractive price.

This car is also focusing on fleet-operators for business.  Toyota Yaris facelift, however, will only be available in the global market as of now and may not come to India anytime soon. Toyota in India first wants to launch a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, in the compact SUV segment which is booming and has huge sales demand.

What is new in the facelift?

The facelift promises tweaks to the exteriors as well as the interiors of the car.  Redesigned front bumper and grille, new LED headlamps and taillamps and alloy wheels may be changes visible in the new car. Toyota will also update the rear profile of the car to change it from its predecessor.

Interior changes may include upholstery and infotainment system update. This facelift may not have anything changes in terms of Engine and Performance and retain the same engine as ago.  The Toyota Yaris in the international market comes with a 1.2-litre and 1.3-litre petrol engines. 

Highlights about Indian model

The Toyota Yaris’s current generation sold in India costs between Rs.8.86 to Rs.14.3 lakh.  It is available with a single BS6 petrol engine. Both manual and automatic transmission is up for the purchase with the car.

The Toyota Yaris competes with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid. The Skoda Rapid Rider with a price tag of Rs.7.49 lakh is the cheapest of the lot and features a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
