BMW G310 bikes spotted again!

Still no news on the BS6 BMW G310 bikes. Last time when they were in the news when there was news about their price cut. Read here. This time they were spotted again cruising on the highway. Now there is a notion that the bikes that were spotted were not being tested. Read further as we explain that in the article.

Expected Features

From the previous spotting and the recent one by Abhinav Bhatt, there is one thing clear. The vehicle is to get a new LED headlamp and tail lamp. Also for the BS6 update, the exhaust looks physically different but the exhaust note remains the same. Rest of the unit was heavily camouflaged and it was difficult to spot the changes on the vehicle.

Next expectation was the new LED display as seen on the Apache RR310. As we see in this spy video that the BMW G310 bikes have the same Instrument cluster. Now, this could be a cost-cutting measure by the company. Why would a company like BMW go for cost-cutting measure when the Badge alone sells the bike.

Why no gear?

As you can see the video, the BMW G310 bikes are being tested by riders wearing no riding gear apart from a helmet. Although the helmets were of good quality and they had bags that had riding gear in them why were they not wearing it. It could be simply that they were transporting the bikes from the manufacturing plant to the test facility.

Also 3 bikes were spotted – 2 BMW G310 GS and one BMW G310 R. Does this mean that there might be a variant of the BMW G310 GS? What will it offer more?

Why Cost Cutting?

As said earlier BMW introduced these bike to capture the lower market. The bike still remain to be expensive than the other bike. Also, they being that expensive they do not offer value for money which slightly lower priced bikes offer. With the BS6 BMW G310 bikes, the company is planning to give them a massive price cut. It is expected to be around Rs 75,000. Pricing the bike lower will offer the BMW badge at a lower price to attract customers and the not value for money aspect will also be tackled.
