After being an affordable BMW, now its time for the BMW G310R and G310GS to become even more accessible. Yes, you heard it right, both these bikes are getting a price cut with the BS6 models. But first, let us know the changes on these BS6 BMW bikes and know more about the spy shots that have surfaced on the Internet

Design Changes

The first change that we spot on the G310 Twins is the new LED headlamps. To note that these bikes will be getting a design update after 4 years now in the market. The current headlight setup was not sufficient for a bike of that price and it had to be changed. The Adventure bike suffered backlash for using a low power headlight and we hope that the new setup solves that problem. There also has been a change to the faring of the bike where there will be seen with a BMW badge. As of now, we can not spot any more changes on the test BS6 BMW bikes.

BS6 BMW Performance

The Performance of the bike is not questionable. It packs a good amount of punch but there is still room for improvement in terms of refinement.

Now with the Apache RR310 achieving another level of refinement with the BS6 model, we don’t expect BMW to overlook this. All the changes on the Apache RR 310 like the ride by wire technology and the refinement to the engine will trickle on the BMW G310 bikes. The way BMW will use this technology will be totally different than what we saw on the TVS.

Also if rider modes are offered on the bike we can expect a TFT screen for the instrument cluster.

BMW G310 GS BS6 BMW bikes

Another obstacle that lies with BMW is that they will have to make the engine BS6 compliant without losing out on power. The current bike has a 34 bhp power and we hope that the bike maintains this figure for the BS6 update too.

There is also news that the ABS setup on the bike will also change to BOSCH but the end-user won’t feel much of a difference.

BS6 BMW Bikes Price Cut

BMW G310 GS BS6 BMW bikes

Although being BMWs which are affordable the bikes have a lot of slack in sales because of the over premium pricing. With the BS6 BMW bikes, the company is planning to give them a massive price cut. It is expected to be around Rs 75,000. This will a direct competition to the other bikes which fall in that segment. The badge value BMW bike anyway drives sales but with the price cut, more people will consider buying this bike. But here is where we see a slight shift in attitude from BMW to offer mature riding experience to getting more sales.

Current rivals

The current rivals to the BMW bikes are the KTM 390, Royal Enfield Interceptor and KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Honda CB300. All these bikes are priced lower than the BMW or have either some more offerings for the price that they come at. Customers even prefer buying the TVS instead of BMW because of its attractive pricing. Let hope that these new BS6 BMW bikes will have a better future
