TVS Motor Company has registered the name ‘Ronin’ a per the report. The name has been registered for the new upcoming product which leads us to think about the upcoming bike. It has been not been confirmed yet which bike it would be but it has more chance to be the name of the cruiser or it might be the name of the upcoming 310 cc street fighter bike or ADV. Wait, there’s lots of confusion as well as excitement, so we’ll consider all the bikes and let’s see where the name suits well.

TVS Ronin as Cruiser

First, let’s consider it as a cruiser motorcycle. But then TVS has already named it as a Zeppelin and it is kind of fit in the brain now. So that would be quite unusual for any manufacturer to change its name. The Zeppelin was also the name of the German airship which was a long and cylindrical in shape. As the cruiser is a long motorcycle and also there are few cylindrical elements too on the bike, so the name suits the cruiser. Therefore, TVS Ronin has a lot less possibility to be a cruiser bike. Which leads us to the next bike which is Apache RR 310 based street fighter or ADV.

It is been reported that TVS is working on the fourth 310 cc motorcycle. It might be naked streetfighter or ADV motorcycle. The TVS Ronin means the wandering samurai who had no lord or master (Japan). However, if we consider the meaning it well suits the ADV or dual-purpose motorcycle. In that sense, TVS Ronin should be the ADV motorcycle which is likely to be based on the BMW G310GS. Nevertheless, these are just speculations but still keeps us excited for the TVS Ronin.

BMW G310GS

The Indian market is slowly tending to be attracted by the touring and ADV motorcycles. People these days love motorcycle touring so we are pretending that if not now, TVS will surely have an ADV in the future. Nevertheless, the manufacturer will be bringing Zeppelin the cruiser motorcycle by the end of 2020 or in the first quarter of 2021. It will be getting a 220 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, oil-cooled engine. The engine is basically the bored out version of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V engine. The engine is expected to be tuned for better low-end punch and torque than the Apache 200 so that it would be easier for cruising at low rpms. The TVS Apache 200 4V for reference produces about 20 bhp max power and  18.5 Nm of peak torque.
