The Tata Sierra and the Tata Estate are the two iconic SUVs from Tata. They were the first SUVs from Tata to be brought on to the Indian market. With the Sierra being showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, Tata seems to be bringing out the iconic name again. Now, the Sierra EV was showcased at the Auto Expo but there are also rumours that the Tata Estate EV could as well be brought in the market and will be based on the Tata Sierra itself. Find out more details about the cars below.

Design

Tata Sierra 2

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to retain all the iconic elements of the original car. The seats and the overall dashboard will be very premium. The glass panels around the car will definitely be retained.

The overall boxy look of the car will also be kept for practicality. It is expected to get all the modern features that are seen on cars of today.

The Tata Estate EV will look similar to the Tata Sierra EV and be similar to the Sierra in most of these aspects. It will be having longer overhangs, a shorter height as well as bigger window panels to provide more comfort for the third-row passengers. It will also have a different seat design from the Sierra as this car will be an MPV.

From the company

The company spokesperson has said that the Tata Sierra is indeed a model that they are looking forward to introducing and it will not just be another concept that is not made. This is is exciting as we feel that most of the futuristic design of the Sierra EV that has been showcased will be retained by the company as they have earlier done it. The Harrier and the Nexon both have got similar design as to how they had been earlier showcased. If the Tata Sierra is brought in to the market it will be launched with a petrol and diesel motor as well although it was showcased only with an electric motor.

Launch

The launch of the cars has not been confirmed, but the Estate EV launch seems unlikely for now. Tata could indeed bring back the Sierra, although with the market right now, if the company had any plans to develop the car it will be delayed.

Meanwhile, the company will soon be launching the seven-seater Gravitas and readying the HBX concept for production.
