The Maruti Swift Dzire is a compact sedan that has been very successful for Maruti in this segment. It is based on the hugely popular Swift and gets a similar design to the car and provides added comfort. The Dzire is known to be the most economical sedan out there. We found out the reasons how Maruti has achieved this below.

Maruti Dzire fuel efficiency

One of the major reasons for Maruti cars to be so popular amongst Indians is the highly efficient cars that they build. The car gets an ARAI certified mileage of 23.26 km/l. Even though the car loses a diesel engine, the fuel-efficiency of the petrol makes up for it. For reference, its rival like the Hyundai Aura gives a mileage of 20.5 km/l and it also uses a 1.2 litre petrol engine. The Dzire also gets an AMT option. This gives an even better fuel efficiency of 24.12 km/l. Therefore fuel efficiency is one region where the Maruti Swift Dzire is ahead of all of its rivals.

Engine and weight

The engines are tuned to give the car the highest mileage possible. The engine is great as it is peppy as well as economical. The new Heartect platform has also proved to be a success for the cars. Maruti has stressed on lowering the weights of its car. This has many benefits such as stronger performance as well as better fuel efficiency of the car. The results can be clearly seen on the Maruti Dzire. The car only weighs 880 kgs. For reference, the Hyundai Aura weighs 1018 kgs.

Service and maintenance.

Maruti has the largest service network throughout the country. One of the advantages of owning a Maruti car is low maintenance and service cost. Even the spare parts of Maruti cost lesser than other companies and the servicing of the cars comes at a cheaper rate. Therefore the running costs of the car are cheap. The overall car is very durable as well and there are rarely any issues on the cars.

Maruti Dzire pricing

This is again somewhere where Maruti excels at. It is known to price its cars very competitively in order to gain the majority of the market. The Maruti Dzire costs only Rs 5.8 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level variant. The top of the line AMT variant costs Rs 8.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Therefore it is on par with its rivals like the Hyundai Aura and also undercuts other cars such as the Honda Amaze. Check out our review on the Maruti Dzire below:
