Creta has always been a value for money product from Hyundai. It was the leader in the mid-sized SUV segment for majority of period. However, due to recent launches of many mid-sized SUV from the big brands, it experienced drop in sales figures for a while. But Recently Hyundai unveiled the second generation of 5-seater Creta at the Auto Expo 2020.

Now the trend has been seen that mid-sized 5-seater SUVs being transformed to the 7-seater SUVs such as Tata Gravitas(Harrier 7-seater), Hector Plus(Hector 7-seater) and upcoming Kia Seltos 7-seater. Considering this, it has quite possibility that Hyundai will also unveil the 7-seater Creta pretty soon. Let us see what can be the features and changes for the Hyundai Creta 7-seater SUV.

Engine

The Hyundai Creta 7-seater could have similar engine options as the upcoming 5-seater Creta. The company hasn’t revealed about the engine options of the Creta 5-seater, however we expect it be directly derived from the Kia Seltos. The Seltos is offered with three powertrains- 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol produces around 115 bhp max power and 144 Nm peak torque, while 1.4-litre turbo-petrol churns out 138 bhp max power and 242 Nm peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel makes 113 bhp max power and 250 Nm peak torque. The diesel comes mated with the 6-speed manual and optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine has an option of 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. While the naturally aspirated has option of 6-speed manual or IVT automatic gearbox.

Features

Features will be more or less similar to the 5-seater Creta. As Hyundai hasn’t revealed the features of the upcoming Creta but it will possess pretty competitive and upmarket features. It will be equipped with the panoramic sun-roof, touch screen infotainment system, cruise control, multiple airbag option etc. Similar or more premium features are expected on the 7-seater Hyundai Creta.

Price

Pricing will be premium of Rs 1-1.5 lakhs(ex-showroom) over the upcoming 5-seater Creta. For reference the price of the upcoming 5-seater Creta is expected to be around Rs 10 lakhs to 15 lakhs(ex-showroom). The Hyundai Creta 7-seater will compete against Mahindra XUV 500, Tata Gravitas and MG Hector Plus.
