After the success of MG Hector, MG is planning to expand its portfolio in the Indian market. It will be launching its full-size family SUV. MG Six-Seater Hector Design Cues

The upcoming MG six-seater Hector has been spotted testing for a while. From the spy shots, it is clear that it will have different styling elements, unlike the MG Hector. It will get different headlamp design and DRLs.

The outline of the grille appeared to be different than Hector. However, the honeycomb grille element will be carried forward from MG Hector. The lower grille will now have horizontal grid structure rather than the honeycomb structure.

It is clear from the spy shot that it will have a different alloy wheel options. The six-seater Hector will have different styling elements at the rear. The tail lamps will be much sleeker and compact than MG six-seater Hector. The rear bumper appeared to be cleaner than Hector.

It will have to continue to get dual faux-dual exhaust. The MG six-seater Hector is based on the updated Baojun 530 SUV, which is sold in China under SAIC. The upcoming six-seater Hector will be sold with a different brand name in India. It will be offered with more premium features than MG Hector.

The SUV will have more India specific features. It will share many elements from the Hector.

MG Hector Engine

The engine options will be similar to the Hector 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre turbo diesel and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid. However, it will be tweaked for more low-end performance. For reference, MG hector’s 1.5-litre turbo produces 141 bhp max power and 250 Nm peak torque. While 1.5-litre diesel produces 167 bhp max power and 350 Nm peak torque. All of the engine options will be BS6 complaint. It will continue to get MG’s smart connectivity. The six-seater SUV will have an option of six airbags, electric parking brake, tyre pressure monitor, 360 camera, traction control, touch screen infotainment system and much more.

Expected Price

The price is expected to be attractive starting from around Rs 14 lakhs(ex-showroom). The MG Hector is priced at Rs 12 lakhs to 16 lakhs.
