The Hero Xpulse 200 BS6 is a bike that Hero might introduce soon along with The Hero Xpulse 200 T and the Xtreme 200 R. All these bikes have the same engine. The styling is unique on every bike which makes each bike of a good competitor in its segment.

Of these 3 the Hero Xpulse 200 is the bike which gets the option of fuel injection. This makes it the most advanced as compared its carburated siblings. With the emission norms deadline closing in we can expect the launch of the BS6 version of the Hero Xpulse 200 and so let’s take a look at what might new on the vehicle.

The Hero Xpulse 200 was a vehicle which made the segment of offroad adventure affordable. The bike is in no way a head-on competition to the way more heavier and expensive Royal Enfield Himalayan. This bike has a 200 cc engine which is under tuned and produces 18 bhp of power and the 17.

4 Nm of Torque. The vehicle is heavier than most of the bikes in its engine segment but is 40 Kgs lighter than the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The Hero Xpulse 200 is the only bike which offers fuel injection for the 200cc engine which is shared with the Xtreme 200 R and Xpulse 200T. This makes the power delivery more linear and the vehicle also gives constant fuel economy.

Hero Xpulse 200 BS6

Engine-wise although the bike falls in the 200cc category it competes with the 160cc segment. Also, the bike has large tires at the front and the rear and the wheels are spoked so they are heavy. This all results in poor highway performance. Even though this might be the case the bike has good offroad abilities. The bike has a massive ground clearance of 220 mm. The engine is protected with a bash plate and the bike looks rugged. The Hero Xpulse has the DNA of the Impulse which was launched way back when there was no market for this segment. The front suspension of the bike has long travel. The bike gets a long seat and the seat comfort is also good.

For the BS6 update, the Hero Xpulse 200 will get a new programing for the fuel injection system. The power of the vehicle will drop. This won’t make a difference as the vehicle is not bought for its performance.

The bike will have some updated graphics which will give it an update for BS6. Also, there might be a switchable ABS for the bike as it is a dual-purpose vehicle. There won’t be any changes in the looks of the vehicle and they will remain the same. We expect a new colour to be introduced with the BS6 update.

The Hero Xpulse 200 is currently priced at Rs 1,06,500. The BS6 version of the bike will become expensive by Rs 3,000 – Rs 5,000. This will be the cost for the development of the BS6 compliant engine. The BS6 version of the other bike which share the same engine will also come soon. Take a look at our review of the Xtreme 200S which has the same engine
