Mahindra is getting ready to bring in the XUV 300 with a longer wheelbase. Basically the XUV 300 was kept under 4 meters to evade the excise duties in India. Now the vehicle on which the XUV 300 is based on is sold in 2 wheelbase versions internationally. The longer version of the vehicle can accommodate one more row of seats. Because of this Mahindra has decided to start with the development of a 7 seater version of the Mahindra XUV 300. The 2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-seater might have some different name altogether, but for now, we shall call it the 7-seater version as there is no official name from the side of the company.

The SsangYong Tivoli XLV is the vehicle on which this car will be based and the rest of the dimensions of the vehicle will be identical to the international spec model. Read further to know about the Launch and Feature and many other factors of the vehicle

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Launch

The launch of this 7 seater version of the vehicle will be in 2020, we speculate that it might take place by the end of the year. As of now, Mahindra has a lot of upcoming vehicles and the whole existing lineup has to get a BS6 update. After the launch of the BS6 vehicle there will be a launch of the XUV 400 as well as some other vehicle will be launched. So in simple words, the XUV 300 7-seater is in sight but it is still a long way to go till we actually see the vehicle on the roads. Approximately the vehicle will be unveiled in the month of October next year.

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Price

The price of this vehicle will be a tough one to guess for now. The vehicle will be in comparison with its own 7-seaters. As of now, we understand that the vehicles main motive will be to bring an affordable 7-seater to the consumers. This will look contradictory if the price of this vehicle will be compared with the price of the XUV 300. So to avoid this comparison Mahindra might name the vehicle something different. Talking about the numbers, the price of this vehicle will be in the range of Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs.

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Engine

As of now, there is no official news on the engine of this vehicle. The SsangYong Tivoli XLV uses a 1.6 litre diesel engine which produces a power of 128 bhp and torque of 96 Nm. We think that the company will use the same BS6 engine that they will introduce on the XUV 300. This will reduce the cost of homologating a completely new engine to India completely. The power might seem a bit less for a 7 seater but it will do the duty of taking passengers from point A to B. The pulling power and performance will go for a toss while doing so. But after all the vehicle is supposed to make a 7 seater accessible. If we look at this vehicle in comparison with the Renault Triber then we will see that the vehicle will be a good competition if kept under 4 meters but this won’t be the case as the existing XUV 300 is just under 4 meters.

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Design

Now to differentiate the XUV 300 7-seater with the smaller version of it, Mahindra will give it slightly different styling from the XUV 300. The car will have the same front end design but the grill will be stretched a bit wider. The overall width of the vehicle will be wide. The bonnet will not have any folds or lines. It will have a small grill which will be seen to be cladded with a body colours chin. The foglamps will have chrome surrounds and the front will get a secondary grill near the faux plates. The foglamps take the shape of the lines on the body. The window area is wide and large thereby providing large visibility.

Now moving to the side of the vehicle, the car will have a large overhang. The wheelbase of the vehicle will also be increased and this is where the space for the extra row will be made. The roof rails will be functional and will add to the aesthetics of the vehicles. The rear of the vehicle will get a shoulder line above the rear wheel like the XUV 500. We expect the vehicle to get squared wheel arches which are a trend in SUVs. The car will get 15-inch wheels which are adequate for this size of a vehicle. From the side, the vehicle looks like it has a floating roof.  The antenna placement of the vehicle will be at the rear. The ORVMs seem big and wide providing ease of driving.

The rear styling of the vehicle has a continuing window area from the rear. It gets a top-hinged boot door. We expect the door to be electrically assisted. The rear window gets wiper. The overhang of the vehicle seems to be low-slung thereby decreasing the exit angle.  there will be a black cladding running throughout the base of the vehicle to reduce the visual bulk of the vehicle.

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Interior

This 7-seater vehicle will have slightly increased space in the second row as well as the third row will be spacious. The headroom of the vehicle will be somewhat questionable. The vehicle might get dual-tone interiors as well as there will be the use of other premium material to improve the touch and feel off the vehicle. The steering will get Steering mounted controls but they will be basic for the infotainment system. There is a chance that the vehicle will get a sunroof in the topmost variant. The AC vents will be surrounded with chrome and there will be crome at places which are seen to be like by a number of Indian buyers. If there is anything more to talk about it then it will be the storage spaces. It will get a cooled glove box as well as a 1-litre bottle holder in the doors.

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Safety

The safety features on this vehicle include ABS as which will be paired with electronic brake distribution. The car will get 2 airbags as standard as well as the higher variants will get more airbags. The structural safety of the vehicle will also be increased by using a safer platform and high tensile steel for the chassis. The car will get a rear parking camera with rear parking sensors. They will help in providing adaptive guidelines while parking.

2020 Mahindra XUV 300 7-Seater Competition

The Mahindra XUV 300 7-seater will compete with the upcoming i20 and the Kia Venue sized vehicle. The Renault Triber is a vehicle that will also be one of the competitions in this vehicle. The Renault Triber is a 4-meter competitor to this vehicle.

  • dear I need Mahendra XUV300 7 Seater price

  • Even the shark-inspired Marazzo (without shark-fin antenna) with a starting price of ₹ 10 lakhs, wasn’t a hit in the market. A seven-seater vehicle where the headroom is somewhat questionable would ensure that it meets an even worse fate than the Marazzo. M&M have to keep in mind that the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been well received in the market. Then there’s the Maruti Suzuki XL6. The Kia Seltos 7 seater is expected to be launched by March 2020.

  • At ₹12-15 lakhs, won’t it end up overlapping with the XUV 500’s market??
