2020 Ford Marazzo MPV will have better styling than Marazzo

Ford and Mahindra are in a Joint venture and the Ford Marrazzo MPV will be the first outcome of this. This has been decided by the executives of both companies. They have made it public that they have plans for three SUV for Ford and their cooperation in electric vehicle development. Ford has no MPV on their line up and they have been missing out on their chunk in this segment. This specific vehicle will be based on Marazzo. The price and all other details about the platform have been mentioned ahead in the article. 

2020 Ford Marazzo Launch

Ford has previously launched the B-Max. This vehicle was a low-cost version of the actual global product. The major target was the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. This vehicle was set aside because of the price. The investment for this vehicle was too high for the Indian market. Now due to the joint venture with Mahindra Ford has to access to the Marazzo platform.

The launch of this vehicle is expected to take place in 2020. The vehicle will be news to rejoice for the ford fans. At the launch, we are not just expecting a rebadging. There will be a lot of changes on the vehicle which will be revealed at the launch. We expect the vehicle to be ready for production by February 2020.

2020 Ford Marazzo Price

The pricing of the Ford Marazzo will be on the higher sides. The vehicle will have the same powertrain as the Mahindra Marazzo. For now, there is no confirmation on the price of the vehicle. We expect it to be priced at Rs. 10 lakhs. Ford being an American brand and the vehicle will not be a simple rebadging of Mahindra Marazzo its cost will be slightly higher than the Marazzo which is priced at Rs 9 lakhs. All these prices are ex-showroom. The cost of the vehicle will include the development cost as well as the cost of the platform that has been borrowed from the Mahindra.

2020 Ford Marazzo MPV Platform

The Ford Marazzo MPV will be based on the platform of the Marazzo. This is a platform which is a mix of the front-wheel-drive with ladder frame chassis. Being a ladder frame chassis vehicle might be subjected to some amount of body roll. But the front-wheel-drive of the vehicle will make it easier to drive in the city.  What ford will do with the platform is that it will retune the suspension and change the wheel size so that the vehicle rides and handles differently from the Mahindra Marazzo. 

2020 Ford Marazzo MPV Engine

The engine on the vehicle will be Mahindra’s 1.5 litre diesel engine. This is available with an option of both manual and AMT gearbox. The 1.5 litre turbo petrol will be a much likely engine for this ford vehicle. As ford cars are known for their big engine. The turbo petrol will provide enough punch for the vehicle. The diesel engine produces a power of 121 bhp. But it has a massive torque of 300 Nm. All this means that the car will not have to struggle when it is completely loaded.

2020 Ford Marazzo MPV Interior

The interiors of the Ford Marazzo will resemble the Ford Ecosport. The centre console will be picked directly from that vehicle to cust cost. The main motive while designing anything in this vehicle will be keeping the cost low. They’re already big players in this segment like the Toyota with products like Innova. This means that to beat this they have to keep the prices low. The Mahindra Marazzo has not been able to crack the trust factor that people have with brands like Toyota and Maruti. So the interiors will have the fancy bits which do not cost much money. It will get cooled glove boxes. The infotainment system will have Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The plastic quality in the cabin will be made to look good but they will be hard plastics.

2020 Ford Marazzo Exterior

The exterior of this vehicle will not be like the Mahindra Marazzo. This car will have a different grille. The front end of the vehicle will resemble the Freestyle. This also will get LED headlamps and tail lamps. From the side, the outline of the car will be similar to that of the Marazzo.

The window area will be reduced and the doors will be bulkier. The car will get pull out door handles. The roof will be raised at the rear to create more headroom at the rear. The rear seats will have to step up seating posture. The car will run on 17-inch alloys.

The handling of the vehicle will be based on the wheels and so the wheels will have a wider profile. This might take a toll on the mileage of the vehicle.
