2020 WagonR Stingray – Will it be sold via NEXA? (New Spy Shots)

Maruti launched WagonR Stingray on 21st August 2013. This car was a more loaded version of the WagonR. The 2020 Maruti WagonR Stingray will be made on the same lines. The car will basically get the same engine and the internals. The features that are offered on the car will be more as well as there will minor cosmetic design changes. The WagonR is now bigger and there has been a platform upgrade. This has resulted in more space and the car is also much stronger than before.

2020 WagonR Stingray Launch

The WagonR Stingray makes perfect sense as the previous launch of the Stingray was also at the same time when Grand i10 was launched. The launch of Grand i10 Nios will be a perfect opportunity for Maruti to launch their feature loaded car. 

2020 Stingray WagonR Price

The price of the WagonR Stingray will start at 1 lakh more than the regular WagonR. It will be launched in Nexa Showrooms and marketed as a premium car. The WagonR will continue to sell in the Maruti Suzuki Arena Showrooms. This will be similar to what Maruti recently did with the XL6. The price of the Stingray WagonR will be from Rs 5.34 lakhs to Rs 6.91 lakhs.

2020 WagonR Stingray Variants

This car will be available in 4 variants. Out of these 2 will be equipped with an AMT. The car might be sold in Nexa Lounge. The AMT gearbox will be available on the Delta and Zeta variants. The option of CNG will not be provided on any variant but it can be later fitted from a 3rd party dealer. 

2020 WagonR Stingray Engine

The engine on the vehicle will be the same 1.2 litre petrol engine which will power the regular WagonR. The engine will produce a power of 67 bhp. The torque that this engine produces is of 90 Nm. The engine is really fuel-efficient and that’s the main reason why people buy this vehicle.

2020 WagonR Stingray Features 

The Stingray will get a tonne of new features over the WagonR. The vehicle will get passive entry, Engine start-stop and all the features that are there on a keyless entry car. The Stingray will also feature more chrome and will get a lot of chrome strips at places. The vehicles will get rain visors, projector headlamps and LED indicators. It will get a reverse parking camera which will be included as a part of an infotainment system. This infotainment system will be the same as on the other Nexa cars. The Stingray WagonR will also include rear AC vents. There is a mild possibility the car will also get a centre armrest.

2020 WagonR Stingray Specifications

The car will get a manual as well as AMT gearbox. This will be carried over directly from the WagonR and there won’t be any changes. The brakes on the front might be changed to disk brakes. The car will get the same wheels as on the Ignis. The top variant might get Diamond cut alloys. For now, there are no alloy wheels offered on the WagonR. The car will continue to have a turning radius of 4.7 metres and will be very easy while driving in the city.

2020 WagonR Stingray Safety

The Stingray will be much safer than the WagonR. To start with it will get more airbags. There will be ABS as well as EBD. The car will make use of 65% high tensile steel which will not only improve the structural strength but will also make the car more stable at high speeds.

2020 WagonR Stingray Mileage

This car will also continue to give a mileage of 22 km/l. This is the best mileage that a car which offers premium feature gives in Maruti’s lineup. This mileage will open a potential buyer who wants a vehicle which has a lot of features but doesn’t look extravagant and can be used daily.

2020 WagonR Stingray Spy shots

The front look of the vehicle is slightly different. It feels rounded and has smaller head lights. It might also have a split headlight setup. The vehicles grill will be like the older Stingray. The wheels are similar to that on the ignis. The rear view mirrors have turn indicators on them. The front of the car is to look different than the regular Wagon R.

2020 WagonR Stingray Colours

If this car is offered through Nexa line up we will surely offer with a Nexa Blue. This will be supported by the introduction of Black. The car will also have a White and a silver shade. There will be orange and brown which will make up for the exotic colour option. Along with this, we are also expecting a dual-tone option which can be seen on the Ignis to continue on the Stingray.

2020 WagonR Stingray Competition

The biggest competition to the Stingray will be the Grand i10 Nios. The Stingray will beat the car at pricing but the quality, fit and finish will be something we will have to wait and see in person. Another car that it will be competing with will be the WagonR itself. It will be a simple matter of spending more for the car that looks slightly different and has a few features which do not matter in the long run.
